The goal of the ZERT Weapons Training program is to train and educate ZERT members to become proficient in the rapid and effective deployment of firearms for the purposes of personal defense, home defense, and defense of others in situations that warrant the justifiable use of deadly force. ZERT members will be conditioned to enhance their combat mindset as they continue to build their firearms proficiency and increase their skill levels through a series of courses that become progressively more difficult and challenging as they advance.
COMBAT MINDSET:
An attitude of awareness, confidence, and purpose — awareness of the situation, confidence in our physical skills, and clarity of our legal and ethical purpose. Whether it happens consciously or not, all physical actions begin in the mind. Courage, determination, perseverance, and controlled aggression allow you to INSTANTLY turn your training into physical application. Combat mindset trumps technique. In a combat situation – YOU MUST WIN THE FIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT. Your life (or death) will depend on it.

In this course, students will progress with their firearms using a crawl, walk, run training approach over two 8-hour days; starting with a systematic concise new-look breakdown of individual fundamentals, followed by compound execution and team building techniques, ending with exercises emphasizing teamwork and control to accomplish the Mission.
THIS IS A LIVE-FIRE MOVEMENT TRAINING COURSE.
This course is specially designed for those who carry firearms daily. It is for law-abiding citizens with an interest in self-defensive on a higher spectrum than their fellow citizens. This course will greatly enhance student's ability to work in a team to safely and accurately engage threats in their homes & businesses.
Course Length: 16 Hours
Areas of Emphasize:
The POI (Period of Instruction) for this course is only a guideline and will be adjusted on the spot based on the student’s ability & performance. You must have taken at minimum a level 2 class from ZERT or another training company in order to take this class
Phase 1 covers the following, but not limited to: Self-Defense Theories, "Controlled Chaos" Drill, Threat Identification, Mad Minute, Transition Drills, Fundamentals of Marksmanship Tactics & Mindset, Mag Changes, and Malfunctions.
Phase 2 in the training covers: Rhythm Drill, Rates of Fire, Team Tactics, and Team Bounding.
Phase 3 covers: Multiple Team Tactics Live-Fire Scenarios moving forward to clear a threat or breaking contact to move safely away from a threat.
